Former WBO heavyweight champion Tommy “The Duke” Morrison was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession Thursday evening in Wichita, Kan.  

Morrison (48-3-1, 42 KOs), who defeated George Foreman (76-5, 68 KOs) in June 1993 to capture his title, previously served 14 months in the pen after he was convicted on drugs and weapons charges in 1999.

An eight-foot bronze statue of “The Brown Bomber” Joe Louis will be unveiled Saturday in the International Boxing Hall of Famer’s hometown of LaFayette, Alabama.  

Residents of the town of approximately 3,000 people managed to raise nearly $60,000 over a span of three years to pay for the sculpture to be built.

IBF super middleweight titlist Lucian “Mister KO” Bute is scheduled to fight Edison Miranda on April 17 at the Bell Centre in the champ’s adopted hometown of Montreal.

“It will certainly be a pleasure for me to box again at the Bell Centre and to defend my title for the fifth time in front of my fans,” said Bute, 29, a native of Romania who has long resided in Canada’s second-largest city. “I am taking Miranda very seriously. He demolished many good fighters and is a notorious puncher. I will have to keep my concentration level on high to stay champion.”

The documentary Champions Forever: Ali – The Lost Interviews was released on DVD to great acclaim and fanfare on October 20, 2009 through Image Entertainment. 

The film, which features candid conversations with boxing legends Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Larry Holmes and Ken Norton, initially premiered in 1990.

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson said Monday during an interview on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that his deceased 4-year-old daughter, Exodus, was “my angel.”

Tyson claimed that he did not want to be provided full details of her death because, “if somebody’s to blame for it, there will be a problem.”
